Led By The Spirit

Giving “Spirituality” a new meaning.

One of the key things of knowing Jesus Christ is knowing the Holy trinity.

That’s The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let’s take a look at a few verses to understand the “Holy Spirit”.

1. We receive it when we accept Jesus Christ

“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.”

2. It’s God’s spirit

God and God’s spirit is not different. It’s the same.

“There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.”

3. To be renewed in Christ

How can we be renewed and “new creation” if it's not for the Spirit of God that is working in us ?

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

4. It’s God’s signature

Just like when you sign something, you are saying that’s from me.

In a contract, or in the case of God, a promise.

“When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.”

5. Wisdom and understanding

We cannot expect to know everything of or about God or his words unless its His Spirit showing, guiding and teaching us.

6. The likeness of God (and his character)

Who can show us how to become better other than God himself in His spirit ?

All this being part of the Body of Christ for service.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

7. It’s not forceful or controlling

The Spirit of God does not control or become forceful (as you see from “fruits” of the spirit).

It’s gentle and soft.

It will always give good counsel and advice but it's up to you to follow through.

”So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh.“
